Onward Enterprises in the Community
The Anglo American and Bell Bingo Buddies Charity Motorcycle Run
On Saturday 16th September Onward Enterprises was visited by 30 plus local bikers, members of the Anglo American Bikers and the Bell Bingo Buddies Clubs. Julies Rolls, a members of club, nominated OE as a group to benefit from fund raising during there clubs Annual Charity ride around Breckland.
Onward Enterprises staff and service users provided refreshments to the bikers on their charity run.
A cheque for £550 was presented on the day, in front of bikers, people who are supported by OE and local press. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the bikers and those who donated to them for their efforts. The monies will go some way to support the improvement of training facilities across both our sites.
Thetford Branch Celebrations
Thetford enjoyed a very special birthday on the 20th July, we were 25 years old!! We celebrated in style with friends, colleagues and business partners. The event was well attended and it was great to see so many people including some of whom had worked at Thetford and some who had been supported by us for many years and who are now enjoying retirement. Also in attendance were the Thetford Motorcycle Club who had raised funds for OE's new training room at Harleston at their annual motorcycle show. Onward Enterprises were honoured to have received £1000 from the club. We offered our guests cream teas and refreshments including bucks fizz generously funded by Antistat, one of our business partners, whilst we were serenaded by Lee Vasey. Thank you everyone who attended in making it such a success. Harleston also raised a glass and a cupcake to wish Thetford happy birthday and all received a commemorative sports bag in OE orange of course.
Opening Doors at Onward Enterprises CIC
Members of the Opening Doors Self Advocacy organisation visited Onward Enterprises Thetford on the 27th October. Opening Doors were asking people with learning difficulties what was important to them and their lives. The information gathered was to fed back to Social Services to ensure that people with learning have their voices heard when it comes to what services are being offered.
